Roberta Metsola Tedesco Triccas es una abogada y política maltesa especializada en política europea. Desde el 18 de enero de 2022 es presidenta del Parlamento Europeo. Desde el 11 de enero de 2022 había asumido la presidencia interina tras el fallecimiento inesperado de David Sassoli. Es la tercera mujer que ejerce la presidencia de esta institución después de Simone Veil (1979-1982) y Nicole Fontaine (1999-2002). Es también la persona más joven en presidir el Parlamento Europeo. Desde 2013 es diputada del Parlamento Europeo, reelegida en 2019. En octubre de 2020 Metsola asumió la vicepresidencia primera del Parlamento Europeo.

Each MEP gets a general allowance of £46,680 a year. Added to that is a £257,974 annual staff allowance paid directly to employees.
On top of all that, MEPs receive a personal travel allowance of £3,675 and £275 for each day they sign the register in Brussels or Strasbourg.
